Table Mountain supports 2200 species, more than the entire United Kingdom. Although the Fynbos only comprises 6% of the area of southern Africa, it has half the total number of plant species on the subcontinent – and has almost 1 in 5 of all African plant species so far described.

Customer Reviews

The Abseil Africa team definitely made this holiday to South Africa one of the most memorable experiences! We hiked up Table Mountain (via Indian Venster route). We had to set off at 5.30am due to it being a very hot day. This meant that we had the route to ourself. Our guide X was absolutely fantastic! He gave us loads of info during the hike. He was friendly and professional and didn't mind all the photo stops we made :) As for the guys who organised the abseil - what a great testament to the company! They were friendly and professional and gave me loads of encouragement when I burst into tears. They contributed to making my boyfriend's 40th his best birthday ever and such a special day. Thank you Abseil Africa! We will be back! - Glynis Leo

I loved my experience with Abseil Africa. Stephanie was a great hiking leader and extremely knowledgable about the fauna, flowers and natural history of the mountain. The guys running the abseil were great! I felt safe and protected. They were very helpful with instruction and made me feel more relaxed as I stepped off that ledge. They were awesome and cracked some jokes making me laugh and enjoy the experience. I've bungeed and have skydived but abseil was like no other - definitely worth it if you have no fear, although I was with a girl who had a fear of heights and she handled it like a champ and felt great when finished! So I say it's not just for the adventurous or fearless but for those brave enough to push their own limits and want to challenge themselves. - Marisa Schaeffer

We had the BEST time doing the Table Mountain hike and abseil. Steph was just the BEST guide and not only got us up the mountain safely, but taught us all about the history, geography and the plant life on the mountain too. Thanks guys! - Sarah Smullen

The hike was great and our guide did very well. She kept a good pace for all and had a lot of things to tell about wildlife etc. The Abseil was great but the surprise that after 1/3 it was a free abseil has been an adrenalin bomb. However, looking back it was great experience. - Mirko Hermersdorf

Really enjoyed my time. The guys were very good at making the experience comfortable and easy. I would recommend you guys to anyone. - Erika Gutierrez
